The advances of Generative AI in the last year have been incredible and the speed of development of AI technology is accelerating. Against these developments lawyers and policymakers risk being left behind and the world around us may in future be shaped by those who control the technology.

This special Convene event examine how policymakers are approaching the regulation of AI and will examine how in particular the European Union and the UK are approaching AI regulation. It will include discussions of the key elements of the EU AI Act and UK policy on AI regulation. Discussion will be led by experts from the School of Public Policy and the School of Law and will give attendees an understanding of, and a critical approach to, AI Regulation, Law, and Policy.
